KATRINA RIDLEY

PRACTITIONER OF BOWEN THERAPY

A life changing experience 20 years ago caused Katrina to change direction in her life. Ten months apart two of her nephews passed away due to illness.  It was at that point Katrina began the move away from teaching and administration and decided she wanted to be able to help people find a sense of well-being and improved quality of life.  She does this to honour the memory of her nephews.

In her search to find the most appropriate form of helping people, Katrina found Bowen Therapy.  What drew her to Bowen was its effectiveness, gentleness and that it is Australian.

Katrina had never had Bowen Therapy before she studied to become a practitioner. However, she had heard how wonderful it was from others, how gentle, effective and non-invasive it was and how children as well as adults responded positively to it.

In 2003, Katrina founded what was then Harbour Healing and began her life as a practitioner of Bowen Therapy and educating the community on the benefits of Bowen.

Katrina continues to endeavour to help people experience the best quality of life possible regardless of their circumstances.  Infants, the aged and frail, the ill and infirm, those with sports or other injuries or living in chronic pain may all benefit from Bowen Therapy and that is what continues to drive Katrina in her chosen profession.

Educating the broader community about Bowen Therapy and its many benefits has also been important to Katrina.  She is a member of a local small business networking group that meet regularly to educate each-other on their services and products.  She has been a member of a local complementary therapists organisation and been invited to speak to community groups such as Probus, CWA etc.

Improving a person’s quality of life is paramount and a major reason why Katrina spent 10 years as a Trainer with Bowen Training Australia, retiring from teaching in July 2021.

TRAINER & PRACTITIONER OF BOWEN THERAPY

Vianne’s passion for Bowen Therapy was ignited by her first Bowen treatment for a serious back problem that she had suffered in her early twenties.  She had tried many other types of treatments to relieve the discomfort but none had a lasting effect.

It was Bowen Therapy that finally gave her relief and as a result a passion for this amazing therapy.

Vianne worked with horses, in hospitality, operational management and even in performing arts.

When she found Bowen Therapy everything changed and an amazing journey began.

Bowen Therapy has been Vianne’s full-time occupation for the past 13 years having run a very busy clinic in Mandurah, Western Australia.  She was also the driving force behind setting up a Bowenwork clinic in the Mandurah Senior Citizens Centre as well as taking Bowen to the wider community.

As a result of her passion and work with Bowen Therapy it was a natural progression for her to move into teaching Bowen Therapy in 2011 and sharing her enthusiasm for this amazing therapy with others.

Vianne moved back to the east coast at the end of 2017 and is now living and working in Perth & Mandurah in Western Australia.

Vianne is a member of Bowen Training Australia RTO#41134 and trains people in Certificate IV in Bowen Therapy 10846NAT as part of nationally recognised training.

Vianne says, “All you need is your hands and heart to work with this amazing therapy.”
